Benjamin H. Woodbridge
(1935-2015), Founding Partner
Mr. Woodbridge, a founding partner of the firm, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1963. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958.
Mr. Woodbridge practiced criminal defense and personal injury in Fredericksburg and statewide for more than 50 years. He was an active member of the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Trial Lawyers associations.
He was an elected member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1970 to 1974. During his tenure, he served on the Roads and Internal Navigation, Auditing, Corporations Insurance and Banking, Courts of Justice and Mining and Mineral Resources committees.
Throughout his life, Mr. Woodbridge devoted his time to many service and community organizations. He was an active member of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, served on the University of Mary Washington board of visitors from 1980 to 1985 and as a member of the VA Medical Malpractice Review Panel from 1980 until his death. Ben was active in the Big Brothers of America, serving as a former member of the board of directors. He was a former secretary and treasurer of the 39th Judicial Circuit Bar Association and a former vice president of the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad.
